Fermentation: Spring Vegetables

Saturday, April 28th. 2 PM As the spring harvest begins, we thought to have an early season fermentation workshop! Erin will be sourcing the first available crops. It could be radishes or turnips, or a combination of vegetables. You will learn the basics of home fermentation. This will be a hands-on class, limited to the first 10 people who sigh up! Soil structure is vital to a plant's ability to access nutrition. It bolsters disease resistance, aeration (yes, roots need air), moisture retention and drought tolerance. Rod is a realist. He will tell you when it is acceptable to till your soils and how to execute tillage with minimal damage to your soil structure and the living microorganisms within. We have exciting news. Our founding 'Tadpoles' are graduating. After several years of participating in our Nature Play group, many are ready for new adventures. Beginning April 12th and running through May 31st, we will be offering a program for children ages 5 - 8.
